02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The newly elected committee members meet each year after the AGM to decide upon the syllabus for the next session. Their aim is to provide a varied programme which is designed to encourage our members to try new crafts, recipes and improve their gardening skills. Alongside that we invite speakers to our meetings to share their experiences and knowledge. These experiences may include travels and adventures, business development or details of the work of another charitable organisation. We also join with other SWI groups, at meetings local and nationally, to participate in similar activities. Our members also share their experiences and expertise with other local SWI groups. This is all done with the purpose of keeping our members active both physically and mentally while providing each other with support and encouragement and a strong sense of community.
