02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Crook of Devon Village Hall is a charity that supports the maintenance and development of the Crook of Devon Village Hall. The hall provides access to social opportunities for those who are unable to travel and who may otherwise feel socially isolated. It is an invaluable community asset that provides a service to groups of all ages. It also provides an AED (defibrillator) that covers Crook of Devon and Drum and each year the hall provide and light the village Christmas tree.

Constitutional objectives

The objects of the Village Hall shall be:- a) To promote the benefit and social welfare of all the residents of Fossoway and its environs without distinction of religion or political opinion by associating the residents, voluntary organisations and local authorities in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities for recreation and leisure time occupation. b) To secure the establishment, maintenance and management of a Community Hall (hereinafter called 'the hall') for activities promoted by the Village Hall in furtherance of the above objects, or any of them. c) The Village Hall shall be non-party in politics and non-sectarian in religion.
