02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Our charity exists to improve the wellbeing, opportunities and quality of life of families, children and residents in Lanarkshire. We do this by providing affordable, high-quality childcare, family learning activities, and programmes that support health, wellbeing, education and social connection. We offer services such as playgroup, out of school care, parent-and-baby sessions, community wellbeing activities and targeted support for those experiencing poverty, ill health or additional needs. Through partnership working and community-led projects, we create a safe, inclusive and supportive hub that strengthens families and the wider community.

Constitutional objectives

The company’s objects are: (a) To provide in the interests of social welfare facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation available to the public at large, and in particular to families with young children within Lanarkshire, with a view to improving their conditions of life. (b) To relieve the needs of people suffering from mental or physical disability, illness and/or impairment, with particular reference to the needs of families with young children within Lanarkshire. (c) To relieve ill health among the residents of Lanarkshire. (d) To advance education among the residents of Lanarkshire. (e) To relieve poverty among the residents of Lanarkshire. (f) To promote, establish, operate and/or support other schemes and projects of a charitable nature for the benefit of the residents of Lanarkshire.
