02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
to assist in securing the establishment of new or enhanced electricity supplies to such inhabitants by subsidising electricity connections, and those related to non profit distributing community based projects, including alternative or renewable energy sources, where the connection costs would be such as to prevent the project taking place.

Constitutional objectives
The purposes of the Trust are to advance citizenship and community development by applying the Trust Fund for the benefit of communities located within the geographical area coloured blue on the plan annexed and signed as relative hereto (hereinafter referred to as the “authorised area”) through: Supporting the establishment or enhancement of electricity supplies within the authorised area by providing financial assistance for electricity connections, including those associated with alternative or renewable energy sources, for non-profit distributing community organisations (including not-for-profit community housing providers in relation to rented accommodation), and projects that are, in the sole opinion of the Trustees, proportionate to the scale and energy needs of the community. and Providing financial assistance within the authorised area for new domestic electricity connections, to individuals in need. in circumstances where, in the sole opinion of the Trustees, such support would demonstrably contribute to the wellbeing and development of the community.
