02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The Association is established for the public benefit and specifically for the following charitable objectives (as recorded in our constitution):- (i) to stimulate public interest in and care for the beauty, character and history of the immediate area and, through other agencies, the entire Newington district (ii) to secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of public, architectural or historical interest in the area of benefit (iii) to promote high standards of planning and architecture in or affecting the area of benefit (iv) in the interests of social welfare, to provide or assist in the provision of recreation or other leisure time occupation either for the benefit of the general public, or for the benefit of those who by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty, social or economic circumstances, have a need of such facili
