What the charity exists to do
The charity is set up to foster development in the law of Scotland. It runs the leading Scottish law journal, the Edinburgh Law Review. It also regularly provides donations to support the publication of scholarly books on the law of Scotland. It pays for editorial work required to secure publication of those books and the journal. It occasionally contributes sums to support events on the law of Scotland, particularly those which will lead to the publication of articles in the journal, or books supported by the Trust.

Constitutional objectives
The object of the Trust is the general advancement of legal education and the knowledge and study of law in all its branches, and especially the law of Scotland, primarily through the publication of 'The Edinburgh Law Review', and the undertaking of all activities conducive thereto
