Lybster Heritage Trust

Constitutional objectives

(One) To preserve for the benefit of the inhabitants of Caithness and its environs as well as the Nation at large, the heritable subjects with the fittings and fixtures therein and thereon known as the Old Store Buildings (formerly known as the Bothy and Fish Kiln) at Lybster Harbour, Lybster, aforesaid (hereinafter referred to as 'the Old Store Buildings') (Two) For the advancement of the education of the general public (without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions) and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation of the general public by the provision in the Old Store Buildings of:- (a) An interpretative centre or exhibition describing the history of fishing and of the fishing community in Lybster and the neighbouring fishing stations (b) Workshop accommodation for boat building, wood craft, and/or metal WJrk or such other craft activity as the Trustees consider appropriate within the objects of the Trust (c) A communal area for meetings and social events (d) Such other activities in the Old Store Buildings as the Trustees consider appropriate all within the objects of the Trust (Three) To preserve for the benefit of the inhabitants of Caithness and its environs as well as the Nation at large such other heritable property and fittings and fixtures of architectural merit or historical importance forming part of the National Heritage in the Parish of Latheron, Caithness and in particular in the village of Lybster, aforesaid as the Trustees consider appropriate within the objects of the Trust (Four) Any other objects recognised by the Commissioners of Inland Revenue as charitable which the Trustees consider are similar or related to the foregoing objects
