02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We are an organisation specifically focussed on assisting older adults living within Castlemilk and surrounding areas to continue living safely and independently within their homes and the community. We pride ourselves on providing a purpose-built facility in the heart of Castlemilk, encouraging inclusion whilst preventing fuel / financial/ food poverty and isolation. A haven for older adults aiming to improve their health and wellbeing through financial and health focussed advice, socialisation, healthy eating and participation in a variety of activities and events aimed at maximising income, personal development and maintaining independent living throughout their retirement years.

Constitutional objectives

The organisation's purposes are: 3.1 The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the older residents of Castlemilk and its environs ('the Operating Area'). 3.2 The relief of those older residents of the Operating Area, in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. and 3.3 The advancement of education and training of those older residents of the Operating Area particularly in connection with such skills as will promote personal development.
