02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The Portsonachan Village Hall Trustees/committee members run events for the community with a view of raising funds to help with maintenance, repairs and running costs of this important community facility. The hall is also let to community groups such as the bowling club, community library, craft club and the Fitness, Fun & Flexibility club. The hall committee have planning permission for the refurbishment of the hall building including a small extension to the rear of the building . The hall committee are currently raising funds to progress to building warrant stage and where possible grants from renewable energy companies are applied for.

Constitutional objectives

The said subjects and the buildings erected or to be erected thereon (hereinafter referred to as 'the Trust Subjects') are dedicated and shall be held by us and our successors as Trustees in all time coming for the purpose of physical and mental training and recreation, and social, moral and intelectual development through the medlum of reading and recreation rooms, library, lectures, classes recreations and entertainments or otherwise as may be found expedient of the inhabitants of South Lochaweside in the County of Argyll and its immediate vicinity, without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions
