02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The aim of the day centre is to support older people to remain physically and mentally active and to promote their well-being by providing lunch, activities, social opportunities, and support with day-to-day needs. All our activities are in accordance with the Scottish Government’s outcomes for older people. Activities have continued to grow in the numbers attending and the day centre provides tai chi, keep fit, tea dances, local trips, crafts, board games and knit and natter on a regular schedule. In addition longer trips are held, using a community transport minibus as well as our own minibus and we have Christmas, New Year, Burns Birthday, Summer, Halloween and St Andrew's Day parties.
