Constitutional objectives

(a) 'TO promote the care and advance the education of children, aged 0 to 14 years, resident in Wester Hailes, Sighthill, Parkhead and Broomhouse, Edinburgh and the central belt of Scotland ('the Operating Area') by providing safe, stimulating play and recreational facilities, through a range of childcare services, in the interests of social welfare with the object of improving their conditions of life and consequently allowing the parents to take advantage of educational, training and employment opportunities. @) 'To relieve poverty among the residents of the Operating Area and in particular among children and their parents. (c) 'To advance parenting skills through the provision of support, training and advice to families and the public in more effective ways to care for children, and in the importance of sound relationships between parents and children, for the maintenance and enrichment of family life. (d) 'To advance education among prisoners in relation to the development and welfare of children for the benefit of families directly affected by imprisonment and in order to increase awareness in prisoners of their role as parentslcarers. (e) 'TO promote, establish and operate other schemes of a charitable nature.
