02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Ceilidh and concerts provided both social and cultural benefits to local residents. Visitors have also enjoyed these events and the summer coffee shop. Providing a venue for local council and grazings committees supports local democracy. Continuation of the village lunch club during the winter time helped to maintain companionship in the community. Cafe in the Summer school holiday, provided on two days in the afternoon.

Constitutional objectives
(a)Promote the benefit of the inhabitants of and visitors to the crofting townships of Achnacloich, Tarskavaig and Tokavaig without distinction of sex or sexual orientation or race or political or religious or of other opinions by associating together the Local Authorities, Voluntary and other organisations and the said inhabitants in a common effort to: (i) advance education. and (ii) provide, or assist in the provision of, facililies for recreation and other leisure-time occupation for the said persons in .the interests of social welfare with the object of improving their conditions of life. (b) Establish or secure the establishment of Tarskavaig Communities Hall and to maintain and manage the same (whether alone or in co-operation with any Local Authority or other person(s) or body) in furtherance of the above object. (c) Promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined.
