02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The charity is set up to help maintain a community for the Youth of the area of Humbie and its surrounds. The local council closed the primary school which had been the source of many community events and gatherings. We felt there was a need to maintain as many of the community events previously organised by the PTA and the school as possible. Further we wanted to provide a source of support (mainly financial) for the children of the area so that they could still enjoy extra curricular activities that had been removed by the school. We further wished to encourage them to maintain hobbies, undertake charity work, gap years, sports etc by offering small disbursements to help them to be able to afford these activities. We organise a local firework display, winter market and other occasional events throughout the year to raise the funds which can then be distributed when applied for.
