02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Whitehouse Village Hall provides and maintains a community hall for the residents of Whitehouse in Argyll and the surrounding area. The hall is held in trust for the recreation, education and social benefit of the local community, without distinction of sex, politics or religion. We do this by keeping the hall open, safe and affordable, and by making it available to local groups, individuals and commercial hirers. Regular users include the SWI, a fitness Pilates class, a craft group, the Kintyre Investment Club and the Fyne Acting Company. The hall also hosts community council meetings, public meetings and private hires. The committee runs a programme of community and fundraising events through the year, including soup and dessert lunches, plant swap and produce events, and a festive craft fair. Income from hire and events is used to maintain and improve the building. Volunteers run the hall entirely.

Constitutional objectives
The said subjects and the building erected or to be erected thereon are dedicated and shall be held by us and our successors as Trustees in all time commng for the purpose of physical mental training and recreation, and social, and moral and intellectual development through the medium of reading and recreation rooms, library, lectures, classes, recreation or otherwise as may be found expedient of the inhabitants of Whitehouse in the County of Argyll and its immediate vicinity, without distinction of sex or of political or religious or other opinions subject to the provision of these presents
