02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

FVA supports, develops and represents the third sector (including community groups, charities, social enterprises and more) and volunteering in Fife. We support local public sector partners with community planning, bringing lived experience, communities, organisations and resources to help make all of Fife's communities more resilient. We employ staff to operate from a range of offices in Fife, to provide information, support and guidance to those starting or running a third sector organisation - helping to ensure compliance, sustainability and impact. We promote volunteering to everybody in Fife, supporting and matching people to volunteering opportunities that will help them to achieve their personal goals. FVA works closely with policy makers to ensure the third sector is heard, and supported, in order to make a difference in all communities in Fife.
