(i) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Keose and Glebe, Isle of Lewis without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions by associating the local statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, to provide, or assist in the provision of, facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupation so that the conditions of life of the aforementioned inhabitants may be improved
