02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Lumsden Community Association is a volunteer-run charity that works to make Lumsden a better place to live for everyone in the village and surrounding area. We bring people together, look after shared spaces and help keep local life active and welcoming. We do this by: -running community events open to all ages, such as [e.g. gala day, coffee mornings] -providing and looking after recreational facilities for local people, such as [e.g. village hall, play park] -celebrating Lumsden’s heritage, arts and culture through [e.g. exhibitions, music events] -improving the local environment through [e.g. planting, litter picks] -listening to residents and working with local groups to meet community needs. Our work is carried out by local volunteers, and any money we raise goes back into the community.
