02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The objectives and activities of the Centre of Therapy & Counselling Studies continue to be inline with our mission statement of helping people in our community by providing full vocational training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for those wishing to enter the profession of counselling and psychotherapy and by offering help to people with mental health issues whilst also delivering full vocational training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for people wishing to enter the profession of counselling and psychotherapy.

Constitutional objectives
(a) To relieve the poverty, suffering and distress and to further the health of persons suffering mental ill-health throughout the United Kingdom generally but in Glasgow and its environs particularly by promoting effective treatment within the field of mental health through the cognitive and behavioural approach in particular and through other therapeutic approaches in general. (b) To advance the education of the public about such cognitive and behavioural approaches and other therapeutic approaches by providing education through devising and delivering programmes which will enable the public generally and the participants in particular to increase their knowledge and skills in appropriate therapeutic interventions in treatment within the field of mental health and related problems.
