What the charity exists to do

At Relationships Scotland - Shetland (RSS) we support individuals, children, young people, couples, and families to help reduce conflict, improve communication and ensure that people are supported to manage times of conflict and relationship breakdown.

Constitutional objectives

4.1 to promote the ideas of conciliation and mediation with the object of assisting persons concerned in matrimonial or other disputes of any kind whatever concerning children or related matters, whether or not involved in any Court proceedings, and the children of such persons so far as possible in the amicable resolution of such disputes, in the appreciation and understanding of the problems involved and the interests of such children in the adaption to and the coping with their changed situations and circumstances, and in any other way whatsoever. 4.2 to promote a comprehensive and co-ordinated community service in the Shetland area designed to meet the special needs of such persons and to provide conciliation and mediation with the objects specified at 4 .3 to promote and encourage co-operation with and amongst and support for courts, statutory and voluntary bodies and all organisations and individuals involved in any way with such disputes. 4.4 to work and campaign for the understanding and improvement of the rights and interests of such persons, and 4.5 to promote and encourage research into and study of matters connected in any way with these objects
