Constitutional objectives
The Objects of the Company is to (a) advance education (b) the relief of those in need in Scotland by:- (a) organising and running activities from Gartmore House. (b) operating, running and developing Gartmore House Conference Centre as a quality conference and retreat facility. (c) organising, facilitating and presenting educational courses. (d) providing homes and sheltered housing for the over-50's, physically and mentally impaired and for those who are unable to find a place, temporarily or permanently, in the social order. and by creating conditions calculated to affect favourably their physical, moral and mental welfare and, as far as possible, by enabling them to take their place as responsible citizens of the community. (e) managing, controlling, administering and governing the communities and residential centres and other premises of the Company in every respect as seem fit and by appointing administrators, care assistants, nurses, physicians and others for giving care and attention, treatment, instruction, training, rehabilitation and special needs care or services. and (f) receiving as residents of the communities and residential centres and other premises, such persons as the Company may consider proper, and that on such conditions, including payment of fees for or towards their care, maintenance, training and treatment and for such periods all as the Company may fix. and by removing any such persons from said communities and other premises at the discretion of the Company without case assigned.
