02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Home-Start Falkirk delivers early intervention support to some of the most vulnerable families with young children across the entire Falkirk Council area. Our support targets families with young children who have multiple and complex needs who are struggling to cope with life's challenges. We have a strong track record, backed up by comprehensive monitoring and evaluation demonstrating our effectiveness. We are a unique resource in the area, recruiting and training a network of local community volunteers - many with first-hand experience of the issues our families face, with some having been previous beneficiaries of our support. Our managed peer support makes a positive difference to 'our' families who are empowered to make positive choices and increase their skills, confidence, resilience, and independence so that they are less reliant on external support. We also run family groups, drop-in groups, youth clubs and a new dads project.
