02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The principal activities of the Trust are the relief of poverty, promotion of skills and education, advancement of citizenship and community development and the promotion for public benefit, of urban or rural regeneration in areas of social or economic deprivation in North Ayrshire, During the year to 31 March 2025 the Trust has continued to utilise the income from investment properties to provide grant support to a variety of Community Groups and Social enterprises in furtherance of its main objectives with 12 awards totalling £307,437 being approved across the year. In addition, the trust continued to commit funds transferred from the former Irvine Bay Urban Regeneration Company in support of a range of regeneration projects within the geographical area covered by the former Company. A total of £8,957,466 of grants and match funding has been approved to date.

Constitutional objectives
The company's objects are: 4.1 To relieve poverty among the residents of the Operating Area. 4.2 To advance education among the residents of the Operating Area particularly among the unemployed. 4.3 To promote training in skills of all kinds, pmticularly such skills as will assist residents of the Operating Area in obtaining paid employment. 4.4 The advancement of citizenship or community development in terms of Section 7(2)(1) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005. and 4.5 To promote other scheme ofa charitable nature for the benefit of the residents of the Operating Area
