02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

CFHS provides information and advice to those who are seeking information about their family roots, normally those with a Caithness connection. It collects research and data in order to further the knowledge available and publishes, in print or on-line, the results of that research. Meetings are held within the County or virtually through an Internet provider to allow members and the general public hear about a specialist topic. Members of the society benefit by receiving a Journal, published or in electronic format, with two or three issues a year. Members are invited to contribute to it thus enhancing their own research skills and building connections to other members. The Society contribute to the educational knowledge of Scottish Family History by being an affiliated member of the Scottish Family History Societies.
