02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The Jura Hall is situated in the middle of Craighouse and run as a trust by a volunteer board of directors, on behalf of the Isle of Jura community. The hall is a registered charity and uses funds from a range of activities to maintain the Hall and car park. We are the only large space on the Isle of Jura and charge a lower rate for resident hire of the hall.

2. The charitable purposes of the Company are: 2.1 For the benefit of the inhabitants of Jura, to advance education and in the interest of social welfare , to provide facilities for recreation or other leisure-time occupation in an effort to improve the conditions of life of the said inhabitants .
