02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The charity is set up to improve the environment for the local people to enjoy. We have created and maintained spaces for outdoor seating in a pleasant setting. We help to fund and support the local Christmas light displays. These are funded from grants, donations and local collections.

Constitutional objectives

The purpose of the Council shall be charitable, namely to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Rothes and its environs (hereinafter called 'the neighbourhood') without distinction of political, religious or other opinions or of race, the objects of the Council being: a. to bring together in association the inhabitants, voluntary organisations, and local authority, in a common effort to further health, to advance education, of the said inhabitants. b. to provide a meeting place and other facilities for the purpose of social welfare, leisure, recreation, and education so that the conditions of life of said inhabitants may be improved.
