02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The organisation does this by managing and maintaining a grade 2 listed building (Castlemilk Stables) and adjacent park which was part of a historic landscape and contains items of historic significance. The Trusts focus is on maintaining the Stables and the Park educating the public about the history of Castlemilk and allowing and facilitating use of the Stables and the Park by public for their benefit. This is done through a long term business plan for the ongoing management and maintenance for the building and the provision of a wide range of community engagement activities which includes working with over 30 volunteers. The organisation takes part in the annual doors open day festival and delivers talks on the history of the area to local schools, community groups and many visitors.
