02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Through regular minuted meetings of our trustees we ensure our internal and external facilities promote and support a range of activities ( sporting and social) which satisfy our aims and meet the needs of our local community. Our facilities consist of a hall , astro and playing field and are used by a range of age groups for different activities eg, Friendship Club, Crafting , Sewing, Karate, Circuit Training, Football, Line dancing etc Social events include Macmillan Coffee Afternoon, Bingo Tea, Quiz nights, Children and Adult Birthday parties as well as other events organised by external providers take place. Our weekly 'Guildtown Larder' is located in the hall and is open to all local households - offering surplus foods from fare share and local supermarkets and offers teas/coffees. This, as well as helping individuals with household budgets and contributing to climate change has become a regular social, informal, meeting place for locals.

Constitutional objectives
(a) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Guild town and environs without distinction of political, religious or other opinion, by associating the inhabitants and voluntary organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants (b) To secure the establishment, maintenance and management of a Village Hall and Recreation Area for activities promoted by the Association in furtherance of the above objects, or any of them
