02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
SBEAG aims to protect and preserve for the benefit of the local community and visiting public the area known as Strathy Bay. It does this by maintaining a Log Cabin visitor facility with toilet and information displays, a website and by litter collection. The group work with Highland Council to inform visitors of the sensitive nature of the coastal fringe and discourage activity that may be detrimental to the environment.

(I) To protect and preserve for the benefit of the public the beach and dunes at Strathy Bay (ii) To protect and preserve for the benefit of the public the flora and fauna of Strathy Bay (iii) To advance the education of the public about the natural environment of Strathy Bay and its flora and fauna (iv) To provide, or assist in the provision of a public amenity - ie a public toilet - in the area of the beach and/or the dunes of Strathy Bay
