02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our Charity Vision is: To see parents living in Wigtownshire getting the support they need to give their children the best possible start in life. Our Charity Mission is: - to provide regular support, friendship and emotional and practical help to families in their own homes, in group settings and by telephone. - to safeguard, protect and promote positive mental health and wellbeing of both children and parents - to nurture healthy relationships, ensuring safe home environments and fostering kind, compassionate communities - to address the structure and inequalities that result in poorer outcomes for families on low incomes - to work with other organisations to bring attention to issues affecting children and families and create a strong message around family support We work with families to build confidence, improve health & wellbeing, strengthen relationships and connect with their communities. We aim to ensure children have the best possible opportunities to flourish.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation’s purposes are: (a) Promoting the welfare of families living in Wigtownshire, with at least one child under 5 years of age, and to this end (b) Offering practical and emotional support to parents, helping them build confidence, resilience and positive relationships (c) Reducing isolation and strengthening family and community connections (d) Enhancing children's early learning, development and well-being through family-focused support (e) Working in partnership with local agencies and services to ensure families receive holistic and joined-up support (f) Any other purpose that may reasonably be regarded as analogous to any of the preceding purposes.
