02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Charity has been set up for many years for the Community to enable them to get access to information relating to heritage and local ancestry. This is achieved by holding regularly monthly meetings in Motherwell Heritage Centre, where speakers give talks on varied subjects. Outings take place each year to local and national places of interest linked to local and national heritage.

Constitutional objectives
The objectives of the Society shall be for charitable purposes only and in particular to create an archive ofMotherwell and environs and to advance the education of the public in the heritage ofMotherwell by exhibiting subject matter and generally to preserve and promote an interest in the heritage of the community.
