02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
First and foremost P. C. E. A. acts as licence holder for the Community Radio Station Crystal FM. Crystal FM is a facility allowing local residents to participate in community broadcasting and the promotion of community engagement. Volunteering opportunities are provided for local residents as well as in kind training support. Individuals have autonomy in producing their own radio shows and community events , activities, businesses and local organisations are promoted without charge.

Constitutional objectives
To advance education and to provide, or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation, where such provision or assistance in provision 1. is in the interests of social welfare, and 2. is made with the object of improving the conditions of life of the members of the community in the area of benefit, and for those purposes to associate with Midlothian Council (hereinafter referred to as 'the Council'), voluntary organisations and the inhabitants of the area of benefit. 3. where the establishment and support of any company, or any association or other unincorporated body having objects altogether or in part similar to those referred to in sub paragraphs (1) and (3).
