Our purposes, as recorded in our constitution, are to widen access and participation in the Arts and to raise awareness of art as a medium for personal development.

Constitutional objectives
To promote, improve, develop and maintain public education, participation and appreciation in and of the arts throughout North Lanarkshire. For the purposes of the Association, the defInition of the arts is based on 'The Charter for the Arts in Scotland' (HMSO, 1993) and includes but is not limited to music (instrumental and vocal), dance, mime, drama, folk art, creative writing, architecture and allied fIelds, painting, sculpture, photography, visual design, motion pictures, television, radio, tape and sound recording, the arts related to the presentation, performance, execution, and exhibition of such major art forms and the study and application of the arts to the human environment.
