02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We are an organisation that supports children and young people (up to their 18th birthday) who have sustained burn or scald injuries. Dealing with the effects of life long scars, we help them to realise that although their body image has been altered their hopes and dreams are just as achievable as any other child. The club has 2 main aims. 1) We aim to help in the rehabilitation process of children and young people and their families, offering emotional and peer support through their rehabilitation journey. 2) We also work to raise awareness of burn and scald injuries, to do all we can to prevent these from happening. Previous campaigns have included ‘firework safety awareness’ and ‘dangers of hot water’.
