02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

To assist in the relief of poverty in Eastern Europe, currently in Romania. We achieve this by going to the country every year, then purchasing and delivering goods including medicines in the city of Oradea.

Constitutional objectives

1. The Trustees shall hold and apply the sum of £1 paid by us to them, and such other funds and assets as may from time to time be comprised in the Trust Property, in trust for the following purpose:- For the purpose of assisting the general relief of the poor in Eastern Europe by way of dOnation, to collect or purchase foodstuffs, clothing, medicines, bibles and other Christian literature and without prejudice to the foregoing generality, any other material, goods or equipment (hereinafter referred to as 'the said items') to alleviate the conditions of life of the poor in Eastern Europe by the donation of said items with a view to enhancing their spiritual and physical capacities. The area 'Eastern Europe' being defined as all, any or even only one (as the Trustees may in their sole discretion decide) of the following countries - Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine and Yugoslavia. 2. The expenses of creating and administering the Trust, and any tax payable in relation to the Trust, shall be met in priority to all other payments and transfers of assets out of the Trust Property.
