02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
To voluntarily supplement the social, domestic and community needs of families and children in St Andrews and the surrounding area under any relevant legislation and to liaise and co-operate with statutory and voluntary bodies and their personnel and to take whatever action commends itself to the Company for the benefit of the health and welfare of families and children and the community in St Andrews and the surrounding area, by whatever means may be deemed appropriate.

Constitutional objectives
1.1.1 Families First St Andrews is a non-profit distributing Company. It shall deliver its services from its base in the St Andrews area of Fife and shall normally draw the membership from any person who is either resident or regularly employed within the town of St Andrews, and surrounding area, and who is in sympathy with the objects of the Company. so long as they continue to be eligible to become a member of the Company, whilst recognising the ability to attend meetings in person as required. 1.1.2 Families First St Andrews aims to support the social, domestic and community needs of children, young people and their families living in St Andrews and the North East Fife area, as resources permit. 1.1.3 In furtherance of this, the Company’s objects are: a) The prevention and/or relief of poverty. b) The advancement of health and wellbeing. c) The provision of recreational facilities and activities for children, young people and their families. d) The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship, rural isolation or other disadvantage.
