02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity was set up to provide relief to the poor and needy. It raises funds to give to other charities and groups with similar aims, locally and internationally. It also holds youth events to encourage and support local children in competitions run by Rotary UK . It's incomes come from donations and fundraising activities . The charity in turn provided donations to local groups including the Limekilns and Charlestown Gala Committees, Therapets, Dunfermline Sounds and Shiresmill Therapy. The charity also joined the specsort project run by the Rotary Club of York Ainstry which takes pairs of unwanted and redundant Spectacles , grades them and sends them to Africa.
