Hawick Callants Club David Ferguson Trust

Constitutional objectives

To (a) provide annually a monetary prize for a pupil of Hawick High School who has excelled in the subject of Geography, that prize to be of an amount equivalent of the sum of £20.00 in the year 2000, adjusted from time to time to take account of inflation in future years (but subject always to the discretion of the Trustees). Said prize shall be named the 'Hawck Callants Club, David Ferguson Memorial Prize for Geography' and (b) to provide a perpetual trophy and also an annual medal and monetary prize of an amount to be decided upon by the Trustees for a pupil or pupils of Hawick High School, who has in the preceding year undertaken a particularly worthy and meritorious project or made some worthy and notable contribution to the life of that School or the community of Hawick. This award shall be called 'The Hawick Callants Club, David Ferguson Memorial Award for Special Achievement'. The said trophy shall be engraved, at the expense of the fund, with the name of the person or persons to whom the award has been made, but the trophy shall be retained in the trophy cabinet at Hawick High School or such other place as the Trustees may determine. The Trustees in making these prizes/awards shall take the advice and consider the recommendations of the Rector, and if deemed appropriate, other members of staff at Hawick High School.
