02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The objects of the Trust shall be to foster and encourage the pursuit of ornithology for the benefit of the public and to advance the education of the public by the study of the natural history of Sanda Island in the Region of Strathclyde. This will be achieved in so far as consistent with the capability of the Trust at the time by: (1) Manning the Bird Observatory and Field Station on Sanda Island. (2) Gathering information on the birds, other animals, plants, archaeology and the history of Sanda Island. (3) Publishing reports on the work and progress of the Sanda Bird Observatory and Field Station. (4) Assisting with the training of ornithologists in field craft and ringing. (5) Carrying out other acts or functions consistent with the attainment of the objects of the Trust.
