02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The objectives of the Association are to seek to improve the River Earn and its tributaries for angling interests and to safeguard and improve the stocks of native and migratory fish. The main activities are control of non native invasive plant species, habitat improvement and stocking. The Association also supports wider initiatives in the Tay catchment area including counts of piscivorous birds to formally record data to support control initiatives. smolt shepherding, seal scaring, reporting of pollution incidents and trials for alternative control options for non native invasive species.

Constitutional objectives
To conserve, preserve and protect the natural environment including the river basin, surrounding land and the wildlife of the river Earn and to preserve, protect and restore the stocks of native and migratory fish, and to promote a naturally self-sustaining salmonid population for the public benefit and in furtherance thereof the association shall seek to develop working relationships with other bodies whose aims are similar.
