02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

To take all appropriate measures to conserve the natural beauty and natural heritage of Glencoe, and their environs for the benefit of the local community and the public at large and to promote open public access thereto in so far as this is not detrimental to such conservation. (b) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Glencoe without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions by associating with the said inhabitants, voluntary organisations and local statutory authorities in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities, in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupation so that their conditions of life may be improved.
