02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We provide basic household items to people who have been homeless moving into a new home with nothing to bring to that home. We receive referrals from Homeless Services, New to Scotland Team for Ukrainian, Refugees, Asylum Seekers, Women's Aid, Throughcare, all five Housing Associations, River Clyde Homes, Cloch, Oak Tree, Larkfield and Link Housing Associations. A Starter Pack includes bedding, towels, pots and pans,, crockery, cleaning and hygiene products and a kettle and toaster etc. We also provide Starter Packs to people living in poor circumstances who have been identified by our partners. Referrals come from Drug and Alcohol Services, Social Works Services, Children and Families, Criminal Justice, Health Visitors, District Nurses, Vulnerable Adults Team, Community Link Workers to name of few, Last year we provided Starter Packs to 440 Homes, 326 Single People, 124 families including 255 children.

Constitutional objectives
To relieve the overty, suffering and distress of people who are in a condition of need, hardship or distress by providing, or assisting in the provision of, household goods with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants of Inverclyde generally but in particular those who have need of such facilities by virtue of their youth, age, infirmity, disability, handicap, poverty, homelessness, unemployment or social and economic circumstances. To undertake such other charitable activities as may be helpful to the aforesaid persons.
