02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Inverness Ice Centre Ltd is a community hub witha wide range of patrons and users. The main function is to provide 'sport for all' ice sports. IIC is one of the few ice rinks in Scotland the provides three ice sports from just one pad (curling, ice hockey and ice skating). In addition we provide space for a wide range of community groups e.g. Monday night 'Maggies Choir', yoga, pilates, whilst also hosting large community events in our 'off season'. IIC is partnered with The Highland Hospice to to host the annual Strictly Inverness competition which is The Highland Hospice largest annual fundraiser. The event in May 2026 will be year 15 and will have reaised over £2Million over this period.Our tenants are aligned to our values of haelth, well being, and education also. They provide physio, advocacy services, marshal arts fitness and motorcycle training and testing. IIC is a valued community space being a meeting place for all ages and abilities.

Constitutional objectives

The objects of the company shall be to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Inverness and its environs without distinction of sex, sexuality, political, religious or other opinions by associating the local statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities, in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupation so that their conditions of life may be improved.
