02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Asbestos Action is a not for profit charity set up to assist those suffering from asbestos and silica related illnesses, through practical and emotional support involving the provision of advice and information. We aim in general to improve their and their families quality of life and to assist in attempting to gain reparation. We also strive to advance the education of the general public within Scotland concerning the dangers and hazards of asbestos in the environment as well as convening and or attend conference and events to work in liaison with representatives of voluntary organisations, government departments, local and other statutory authorities and individuals.
