02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Envirokirn is set up to encourage residents, businesses, local schools and visitors to take pride in their surroundings. The group works in close partnership with the local authority and with local charities to tidy up and enhance the seafront promenade, retail and beach areas,

Constitutional objectives
a) to preserve, restore and improve the environment within the operating area through (i) protection and/or preservation of the natural environment: (ii) the provision, maintenance and/or improvement of public open space and other public amenities and other environmental and townscape regeneration projects, and in doing so, to seek wherever appropriate (but subject to appropriate safeguards to ensure that the public benefit so arising clearly outweighs any private benefit thereby conferred on private landowners) to carry out works of reclamation, remediation and other operations to facilitate the use for those purposes of land whose use has been prevented or restricted because of previous use and (iii) advancing the education of the public on environmental concerns. b) to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Kirn and its environs without distinction of sex, sexuality, political, religious or other opinions by associating the local statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities, in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupation so that their conditions of life may be improved.
