02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
As part of the scouting organisation we run weekly meeting for your people to provide skills and experiences to enhance growth, confidence, learning, team building, friendships and fun. 3 age groups experience outdoor activities such as camping and cooking on wood fires, work towards skills badges. They also get involved in volunteering within the community, such as bulb planting and delivering the local quarterly magazine. In order to keep fees low and affordable to all, the parent committee organise fund raising activities throughout the year, but the main fundraising is the duck race and gala day stall which both happen in May. Both are enjoyed by the young people and the wider community.
