02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Charity provides piping and drumming tuition to young people living in and around Inverness. The Charity supports the young people to perform as a band at regular events, and occasionally organises group trips for the young people.

Constitutional objectives
(a)The objects of the band shall be to advance the education of the band members and the public in the art of bagpipe playing and drumming by the presentation of public performances and other related activities and in furtherance thereof shall seek to foster the development of piping and drumming amongst pupils from schools in the Inverness and wider area. (b)The activities of The City of Inverness Youth Pipe Band shall be organised by The Highland Council. The band will be run by an appointed piping instructor of The Highland Council.
