02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
greenspace scotland provides a national lead on greenspace. We are working towards our goal that everyone living and working in urban Scotland has easy access to quality greenspace which meets local needs and improves their quality of life. We have been influential in shaping a supportive policy context for greenspace and promoting good practice on greenspace delivery. We work with national and local partners to support and develop good practice, good policy and delivery of greenspace, green networks and blue-green infrastructure.

Constitutional objectives
The Trust's charitable purposes (' the Objects') are to advance environmental protection and improvement, citizenship and community development, and health and recreation, through sustainable management and use of greenspaces within and around urban and other settlements in Scotland. In furtherance thereof, but not otherwise, the Company shall seek: (a) to develop and support a network of partnerships, community groups and other organisations to improve, create and promote the use of greenspace and other community spaces. (b) to develop and support, through this network, local greenspaces (including those within 10 miles of landfill sites) to which the public will have gratuitous access for the purposes of furthering their health, welfare and recreation. (c) to provide training, education, support and advice to such bodies and to the public. (d) to develop and share good practice through demonstration projects, study tours, seminars and research and make the results of any such research available to the public. and (e) to do all other such things as are charitable in law for the attainment of these charitable purposes
