02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Melrose Waverley Tennis Club (MWTC) is a tennis club that provides, manages and develops the tennis courts at the Gibson Park in Melrose for the benefit of members, the local community and visitors to the town. The club enables coaching of adults and juniors and provides facilities for playing both social and competitive tennis for all ages. MWTC works closely with Tennis Scotland and Tennis Borders to achieve these goals. Everyone is welcomed and encouraged and the club runs regular “play for free” sessions during the summer where courts, equipment and balls are all provided free of charge. MWTC management committee run the day to day operations, finances and long term planning of the club on behalf of its members. Committee members are elected at the Annual General Meeting and all members have the right to attend and vote.
