02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

To help and benefit the village community of Fetterangus and to promote the village to bring in visitors to use facilities and enjoy the area. The association has assumed the running of the local village hall which has been fully refurbished in recent years. A sports hub facility is also provided. The association also manage a village orderly scheme the purpose of which is to keep the village tidy, plant flowers etc. Various events and activities are also held throughout the year.

Constitutional objectives

The company has been formed to benefit the community of Fetterangus and its environs and the company's objectives are. (1) To provide within Fetterangus recreational facilities, or organise recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. (2) To advance education and in particular to promote opportunities for learning for the benefit of the general public in particular renewable energy and energy savings. (3) To advance environmental protection and improvement in Fetterangus through the provision, maintenance and/or improvement of public open space and other public amenities and other environmental and regeneration projects (but subject to appropriate safeguards to ensure that the public benefits so arising clearly outweigh any private benefit thereby conferred on private landowners). (4) To promote, establish, operate and/or support other similar schemes and projects of a charitable nature for the benefit of the community within Fetterangus. (5) To prevent or relieve poverty, in particular fuel poverty, among the residents of Fetterangus
