02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We support the teaching of English to speakers of other languages by providing professional development and networking opportunities for EFL and ESOL educators in Scotland. We do this through webinars, workshops, professional meetings and partnership activities with educators and organisations. These activities give teachers opportunities to develop their practice, learn from specialist speakers, share knowledge and connect with others working in the ELT/ESOL community. Our work is organised by the Executive Committee in line with SATEFL’s charitable purposes.

Constitutional objectives
The object of the Association shall be to encourage the teaching of English to speakers of other languages. To do so, the association may arrange such activities and may cooperate with such other associations as the Executive Committee, or the Association in General Meeting, determines.
